The Mintmark is below the post horn MW - Mennica Warszawska (Warsaw Mint) while tokens without the mintmark were minted in Kremnica city in Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia)

  • The small A tokens are for local calls lasting three minutes; the larger C tokens for long distance calls.
  • Type B and C tokens represented a multiple of type A tokens.
  • A: 19mm, 1 unit
  • B: 21mm, 5 units
  • C: 25mm, 10 units
  • "B" type tokens were withdrawn from circulation on February 15, 1992. All tokens type A, B, C were withdrawn from use on December 1, 2000 and were officially withdrawn from September 2001
  • The nickel plated test tokens are known both with and without numbers punched (1 to 9 known

The crude tokens marked I, V, IX of various diameters and thickness and various diameters of holes, made of brass and aluminum, were used in 1980's when inflation was strong which stimulated

frequent changes of coins used in payphones. The tokens were used by coin payphones repair workers to check function after repair. Most of these were scrapped.
