OLD BERT AND BILL
Bert and Bill were Bert Everard and Bill Potter who ran an early bus service in Carlisle using a small converted T-model Ford. Both Londoners, they first met in the army in 1906, but did not meet again until 1922. The bus service was started in March 1922 .
The tokens were used as tickets and were sold to passengers at the rate of seven to one shilling.
